Melinda Casey
Biography
Melinda Casey, an American actress and associate director, began performing as a child. Born in Abilene, Texas, she took dance lessons from age three and was spotted through that school. When she was six, that connection led to a small part in the 1949 film Little Women. During the 1950s she worked in Hollywood movies, though her main employment was in television. She appeared seven times on NBC Matinee Theater and also on The Loretta Young Show, Ford Theatre, and The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show. She belonged to the first group of Mouseketeers on The Mickey Mouse Club, and in 1959 she played Priscilla Walker on Wagon Train. At 25 she took her first leading role, in the 1966 horror movie Billy the Kid Versus Dracula. In the 1970s she became a Directors Guild of America member under the name Melinda Ann Casey, and she continued in that role during the 1990s.
