Megumi Odaka
Biography
Megumi Odaka is a Japanese actress and singer who began performing as a child, voicing characters in children's television programs in her home country from the age of twelve. She also recorded several singles and albums during the late 1980s. Her screen breakthrough came after she took part in the Toho Cinderella Contest in 1989, which led to her being cast as the psychic Miki Saegusa in Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989). Toho was so pleased with the performance that it brought her back for the five remaining Godzilla sequels of the Heisei era, making her the first performer to play the same character in more than two Godzilla features. When that series finished in 1995 she largely stepped away from film, though she later appeared on stage in productions such as Peter Pan, Anne's Love and Fiddler on the Roof, and has attended Godzilla conventions.
