Maurice Manson

Maurice Manson was a Canadian character actor whose stage, film, and television career lasted more than thirty years. He went to New York City seeking work as an actor, and during the 1930s and 1940s he appeared regularly on and off Broadway, including Barrymore Theater productions of Othello and Macbeth. In the following decade he relocated to California to pursue film work, where his screen parts were generally small; his movie credits included The Spirit of St. Louis and Hellcats of the Navy. He was a frequent television guest, appearing five times on the CBS legal drama Perry Mason as figures including Charles Sabin, Joseph Kraft, and Jess Parkinson, and he made five appearances on the NBC sitcom Hazel. He also turned up on Gunsmoke, The Munsters, Dennis the Menace, Leave It to Beaver, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. On Broadway he acted in Mary of Scotland in 1933. He died in 2002.
