Maureen Teefy

Maureen Teefy is an American actress born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She made her film debut in a small U.S.O. singer role in Steven Spielberg's 1979 comedy 1941, and that year she also appeared in Fyre and Scavenger Hunt. She was a principal performer in Alan Parker's musical drama Fame (1980), playing Doris, a naive acting student, and is best known for Fame, Grease 2 (1982), Supergirl (1984), as well as Star Time. For CBS Afternoon Playhouse, she starred in the 1981 episode Portrait of a Teenage Shoplifter, and her other films include Sunset (1988). On television, she voiced the robot host Chrome on the HBO series Perversions of Science, appeared in the made-for-TV movies Legs and Disaster at Silo 7, and guest-starred on Max Headroom and Mike Hammer, Private Eye. She also sang and danced in Broadway musicals, and she wrote and produced A Subject for a Short Story and acted in it.
