Marques Johnson

Marques Johnson is an American former professional basketball player, character actor and basketball analyst. Born in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and raised in South Los Angeles, he played at UCLA, where he won a national championship in 1975 and, as a senior, took national player of the year honors. The Milwaukee Bucks made him the third overall pick of the 1977 NBA draft, and he spent seven seasons there, becoming a five-time All-Star and an All-NBA First Team selection. He later played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors before turning to acting and broadcasting. His screen credits include small roles in White Men Can't Jump (1992), Blue Chips (1994), Love and Action in Chicago and Forget Paris. He has worked as a basketball analyst for the Seattle SuperSonics, Fox Sports and Milwaukee Bucks telecasts, winning a 2018 Emmy for his Bucks work.
