Mark Polonia

Biography

Born in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, in 1968, Mark Polonia is an American independent B movie filmmaker who began making movies with his twin brother John. Together they founded Polonia Brothers Entertainment in 1986, and their first commercial release was the cult horror film Splatter Farm (1987), which they directed, wrote, starred in, and shot themselves. The brothers went on to make microbudget horror and science fiction features, including Feeders (1996), an alien film starring Jon McBride that Blockbuster picked up and that became its top independent rental for the year. After a hiatus, Polonia returned to filmmaking in 2011 and built a solo career in low-budget horror, with films such as Sharkenstein (2016), Sharkula (2022), and Cocaine Shark (2023) and the Camp Blood series. He has over 100 directing credits and also teaches audio/visual production at Commonwealth University.
