Biography

Marianne McAndrew is a retired American actress whose first credited film role was Irene Molloy in Hello, Dolly! (1969). Born in Cleveland in 1942, she played a character given more attention than in earlier Broadway productions. The film earned her two Golden Globe nominations in 1969, for Best Supporting Actress and New Star of the Year, a category since discontinued. She then took a second-billed starring role in The Seven Minutes (1971). By 1971 she had appeared in television shows including The F.B.I., Hawaii 5-0, Mannix, Cannon, and Love, American Style, and she later appeared on Highway to Heaven in 1985. Her later film work includes a co-starring role in The Bat People (1974), widely panned and still known as a bad film; it was her last theatrical release, and she has since worked only in television. Other later credits include the TV film Growing Up Brady, while clips from Hello, Dolly! in WALL-E brought renewed attention.
