Mari Aldon
Biography
Mari Aldon was a Lithuanian-born American actress. Born in Tauragė, Lithuania, and raised in Toronto, she studied ballet, drama, piano, and singing before entering films. She spent eleven months touring in a production of A Streetcar Named Desire, and she also danced with a Canadian ballet company. Her radio work included The Harold Peary Show and appearances alongside Alan Young. She made her screen debut in a minor part in The Locket (1946), then gradually took supporting and lead roles. Her most notable role was in the 1951 Western Distant Drums, playing opposite Gary Cooper. By the mid-1950s she was appearing in B pictures such as the British thriller Mask of Dust (1954). She also took supporting parts in more expensive films like David Lean's Summertime (1955). She then worked largely in television, guest-starring on series including Wagon Train, Colgate Theatre, Ichabod and Me, and Bonanza.
