Margaret Ladd

Margaret Ladd is an American actress from Providence, Rhode Island, who started acting in the 1960s on the soap opera A Flame in the Wind, where she played Jane Skerba between 1964 and 1965. Films followed, among them The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973), A Wedding (1978) and The Whales of August (1987), along with smaller parts in I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can and The Escape Artist. She also worked on Broadway, in Sheep on the Runway and My Sweet Charlie, and appeared in television shows including Taxi and Quincy, M.E. Her best-known part came in the 1980s, Emma Channing, whom she played throughout the nine years of the CBS primetime soap Falcon Crest, from 1981 to 1990. After 14 years away she returned in What's up, Scarlet? (2005), followed by two episodes in 2014 of the Amazon series Mozart in the Jungle and a part in Woody Allen's Amazon miniseries Crisis in Six Scenes in 2016.
