Luana Walters

Luana Walters was an American actress who built a career largely in westerns, serials and low-budget horror pictures. Born in Los Angeles, she got her start after a visit to a friend on the United Artists lot led Douglas Fairbanks Sr. to arrange a screen test, and a contract with the studio followed when Joe Schenck saw her dancing at the Cocoanut Grove. The deal lapsed after United Artists went six months without making a film, and her screen credits began with an uncredited part in Reaching for the Moon (1930). Her riding ability won her roles in westerns such as Ride 'Em Cowboy (1936), and she later worked steadily in serials and B movies, including the 1948 Superman serial and The Corpse Vanishes (1942) opposite Bela Lugosi. She died in 1963.
