A role that slipped away
Before Alexis Bledel won the part of Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino had considered Liza Weil for that role. The character Paris Geller was then created especially for Weil.
Big break
After appearing in Whatever and Stir of Echoes, Weil was given a talent holding deal by Warner Bros. and relocated to Los Angeles. There she took guest roles on studio series such as ER and The West Wing, then was cast on Gilmore Girls.
First role
In 1995, Weil made her network television debut on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns, appearing as an unnamed student in a science class.
Behind the camera
Weil co-produced and starred in director Noah Buschel's 2014 low-budget project The Situation is Liquid, part of her frequent collaboration with him.
