Leslie Schofield
Biography
Leslie Schofield is a retired English actor whose early performances came during his service in the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy, where amateur productions and a turn as John Proctor at the 1963 Navy Drama Festival led Walter Lucas of the British Drama League to help him leave the navy for repertory theater. He went on to play Chief Bast in Star Wars (1977), and his film work also includes The Ruling Class (1972), The Wild Geese (1978), Force 10 from Navarone (1978) and Dead Man's Folly (1986). On television he appeared in two Doctor Who serials, The War Games from 1969 and The Face of Evil from 1977, and in Blake's 7, Minder and Midsomer Murders. He played Tom, the son-in-law of the title character, on The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin during its third series. He is best known in the UK as Jeff Healy in EastEnders, a role he held from 1997 to 2000.
