Kamel Krifa
Biography
Kamel Krifa is a Belgian actor who was born in Tunisia and raised in Brussels, where he first trained alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme. Their friendship led to an invitation to the Cannes Film Festival in 1989, where the producer Mark DiSalle noticed him and arranged for him to appear with Van Damme in Death Warrant (1990). That part set him on a new path, and he went on to appear in several of Van Damme's pictures, among them Double Impact (1991) and Legionnaire (1998), while also serving as Van Damme's personal trainer during his Hollywood apprenticeship. He later worked under the mentorship of Steven Seagal and took a part in Seagal's Under Siege. Guest spots on television series including Baywatch and Thunder in Paradise followed, and the response to his work in Kickboxer 4: The Aggressor (1994) brought an offer of a four picture deal.
