She was scouted in high school and signed with the Elite modeling agency in Los Angeles at 17. Her first magazine cover came with Glamour in 1998, followed by appearances as a Guess? On screen, she played Mallory in The Mallory Effect and Susan in Swatters before taking roles as a French model in the film Little Black Book (2004), Marishka in Van Helsing (2004), and Kira Hayden in The Gravedancers (2006). She appeared as Mia Townsend in the video game Need for Speed: Most Wanted and competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2007. That year she launched Josie Maran Cosmetics, a natural line centered on fair trade argan oil.
