John McCook
Biography
Born in Ventura, John McCook is an American television actor who was spotted by Jack Warner in a production of West Side Story, which led to a contract with Universal Studios and a two-year stint in the US Army. He became familiar to soap viewers as Lance Prentiss on The Young and the Restless, a part he played from 1975 to 1980. Since 1987 he has portrayed Eric Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, one of the show's longest-serving roles. He has also performed in musical theater and guested on many primetime series. His work as Eric brought Daytime Emmy nominations in 2001, 2012 and 2018, and in 2022 the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series prize.
