Jo Champa
Biography
Jo Champa works as an actress, producer, and model. She was born in Long Branch, New Jersey, and grew up in Rome, where she began modeling as a teenager and became a favorite model of Gianni Versace before entering Italian cinema in 1986. Early roles came from directors Claude d'Anna, Ettore Scola, Massimo Troisi, and Damiano Damiani, in films such as Salome, The Family, Le vie del Signore sono finite, and Il Sole Buio. She later returned to the United States and starred in Out for Justice (1991), Little Buddha (1993), and Don Juan DeMarco (1994). During the late 1990s she guest-starred on television series including Walker, Texas Ranger and JAG. Champa also hosted the RAI fashion program Kermesse, contributed to Italian Vogue and L'Uomo Vogue, received the America Award of the Italy-USA Foundation in 2009, produced events for the Academy and the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, and created and hosted the SkyCinema program Jo's Hollywood.
