Jackie Martling

Jackie Martling, who performs as Jackie the Joke Man, is a Long Island-bred comic whose career grew out of a stand-up act built on songs and dirty jokes. He began performing full-time in 1979, the same year he recorded his own debut comedy album, What Did You Expect?, and ran a dial-a-joke phone line from his parents' attic. That line brought him to Rick Dees's radio program, and after mailing his albums to Howard Stern in 1983 he became a weekly guest and then head writer on The Howard Stern Show, staying until 2001. Albums such as Sgt. Pecker (1996) and Hot Dogs + Donuts (1998) followed, and later he turned to acting, with parts in The Aristocrats (2005) and Venus & Vegas (2010), plus a Best Supporting Actor award at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival. He also hosted Jackie's Joke Hunt on Sirius from 2006 to 2014.
