Jack Creley
Biography
Jack Creley was an American-born Canadian actor who worked mainly on stage before taking film and television roles. Born in Chicago, he grew up in California and acted in amateur theater as a teenager, later studying in New York under Erwin Piscator at the Dramatic Workshop. He joined the Mountain Theatre Company in Montreal in 1951, then settled in Toronto in 1954, where he performed often at the Stratford Festival and appeared in many CBC Television anthology series. His first major film role came in 1961 in the Western The Canadians. He played Mr. Staines in Dr. Strangelove (1964) and later appeared in Videodrome (1983), while his television work included the sitcom Snow Job and the miniseries Reluctant Nation. In 1970 the Toronto Star praised his performance in the musical Oh, Coward! He made his last screen appearance as a guest on E.N.G. in 1990.

Early training
Creley studied acting in New York under Erwin Piscator at the Dramatic Workshop, where his classmates included Harry Belafonte, Tony Curtis and Rod Steiger.
A change of course
