Ingrid Boulting
Biography
Ingrid Boulting is an actress and model who was born in Transvaal in South Africa in 1947. She moved to England at nine and trained in ballet at the Royal Ballet School in Richmond. As a teenager she was photographed by Bob Willoughby and appeared as a student ballerina on the cover of Queen magazine. She started acting at the Oxford Playhouse and had minor roles in British films before becoming a fashion model. She appeared on four British Vogue covers, three shot by David Bailey, and was the face of a Biba Cosmetics poster photographed by Sarah Moon in 1968. Her film credits include The Witches (1966), The Jokers (1967), Inadmissible Evidence, The Last Roman, and The Last Tycoon (1976), the final film directed by Elia Kazan. Later she became an artist and yoga teacher in Ojai, California, and started the Sacred Space Studio.

Early training

A change of course
For Barbara Hulanicki's Biba store in London, Boulting served as the face of Biba Cosmetics on a 1968 poster. Steve Thomas designed it and Sarah Moon photographed her behind a black lace net veil.
