Hans Alfredson
Biography
Hans Alfredson was a director, screenwriter, actor and author who got his start at Sveriges Radio, where he worked from 1956 to 1960 with Tage Danielsson. Together they wrote, directed and appeared in a series of revues between 1962 and 1982. As a filmmaker he moved between genres, and his strongest critical notices came for Egg! Egg! A Hardboiled Story (1975) and The Simple-Minded Murderer (1982), the latter winning the Silver Bear and a Best Actor prize for Stellan Skarsgård at Berlin, along with two Guldbaggar. He acted in Jonas Cornell's Pig Hunt (1970) and Anders Lönnbro's Sista budet (1981). Alfredson also wrote books, among them stories for children, and later work such as En ond man (1980) revealed a darker streak than the comedy he first became known for.
