Haji

Biography

Haji was a Canadian-born actress and former exotic dancer who became a regular presence in Russ Meyer's films. Born in Quebec, she was given her nickname by an uncle and went on to appear in several Meyer productions, among them Motorpsycho! (1965) and the cult favorite Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965). She added touches of psychedelia and witchcraft to her characters and wrote most of her own dialogue. Her other credits included Good Morning and... Goodbye! (1967) and Supervixens (1975). She was reunited with fellow Meyer performers Kitten Natividad and Raven De La Croix in the 2001 comedy The Double-D Avenger, playing the evil dancer Hydra Heffer, and her last role came in Killer Drag Queens on Dope (2003). Steve Sullivan's book Glamorous Girls of the Century counted her among the last century's most glamorous women. She died in 2013.
