1. A change of course

   At 16, Vaughan learned about a "Back to School" modeling competition while getting a haircut and mailed in snapshots. He became a finalist but did not win, though the winner told him to pursue modeling.

   On June 7, 2006, in a New York ceremony, Vaughan became the new spokesperson for I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. The contest had been created to replace Fabio.

   Vaughan's first acting role was on Baywatch, and he also appeared in the pilot for Aaron Spelling's 1996 series Malibu Shores, which led to later appearances on Beverly Hills, 90210.

   Vaughan finished up at Mesquite High School, then got an invitation to Milan, Italy. There he spent two and a half months doing modeling work for the designer Giorgio Armani.

   While he was modeling in Miami, Vaughan became unhappy with that life and chose to move so he could chase his goal of acting, relocating to Los Angeles.

6. A role that slipped away

   On September 28, 2009, Vaughan said he would leave his role as Lucky Spencer on General Hospital, since Jonathan Jackson, the original portrayer, was taking the part back. His last airing was October 20 of that year.
