Gerard Monaco

Gerard Monaco is a British actor who was born in London and studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His first screen role came in Mike Leigh's Vera Drake, and he went on to appear in films such as Bright Star (2009), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Starter for Ten. His West End debut came as Marco in the 2009 revival of A View From the Bridge by Arthur Miller, and he has also performed at the National Theatre in The Rose Tattoo, Her Naked Skin and Mother Courage and Her Children. Other stage work includes a two-hander, Albert's Boy, at the Finborough Theatre. His television credits include EastEnders, The Bill, Holby City, Rome, Ashes to Ashes and Any Human Heart. A short film he wrote and directed, The Crusader, brought him a nomination in 2007 for a BBC New Talent New Filmmaker Award.
