Gary Frank
Biography
Gary Frank, born October 9, 1950, is an actor and writer who has been a longtime member of the Actor's Studio and studied with Lee Strasberg, Peggy Feury, and Bill Traylor. His screen career began in 1974 when Dick Donner cast him in the television movie Senior Year, which became the CBS series Sons and Daughters. He was a contract player at Universal until that show was canceled after one season, and two days later Mark Rydell and Mike Nicols cast him as Willie Lawrence in the ABC series Family. That role earned him an Emmy Award in 1977 for Best Supporting Actor. After Family's five-season run, he appeared in television movies, features, and guest parts on many major series in the 1980s and 1990s. He has also written scripts.
