Gary Burghoff
Biography
Gary Burghoff is an American actor who first drew attention playing Charlie Brown in the 1967 Off-Broadway musical You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Born in Bristol, Connecticut, he studied at HB Studio in New York City and acted with the Belfry Players of Wisconsin. His feature debut came in Robert Altman's MASH (1970), as Radar O'Reilly, and he was the only actor from that film to continue as a regular on the MASH television series. He received six Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and won in 1977. He left the show in 1979 after the seventh season, returning for the two-part farewell episode Goodbye Radar. From 1974 to 1979 he was a regular on Match Game. Later credits include the film B.S. I Love You and episodes of The Love Boat and Ellery Queen.
