Francis Renaud
Biography
Francis Renaud is a French actor who grew up in Thionville, in northeastern France, and was drawn toward performing by his mother, a movie theater usherette. The AristoCats (1970) was the first film he saw. After hard years at school, he left for Paris on his birthday determined to become an actor, and after months of struggle Georges Lautner gave him his first screen part, in L'invité surprise (1989), a role that ended up cut from the finished film. His luck turned when Karim Dridi cast him in the lead of Pigalle (1994) following a week of rehearsals. Renaud has since worked in many stage and television productions and hopes his career will keep flourishing, just as he dreamed as a child.
