Fayssal Bazzi

Fayssal Bazzi is a Lebanese-Australian actor who started out in theater in the early 2000s before moving into screen work. Born in Beirut, he found that after the September 11 attacks the industry leaned toward casting him as an Arab man, and he has said theater culture gave him more scope than film and television, where he spent years in guest and supporting parts. He landed a role in the black comedy Down Under (2016) while touring Australia with a play, and later toured nationally with Bell Shakespeare in The Merchant of Venice before taking his first lead, in the 2018 comedy drama The Merger, which earned him an AACTA Award nomination for best supporting actor. A second nomination came in 2020 for Measure for Measure. He played Ameer, a Syrian refugee, in the 2020 miniseries Stateless, and appeared in the horror film Late Night with the Devil (2023).
