Everett McGill

Everett McGill is an American actor, now retired, who first drew attention as the caveman Naoh in Quest for Fire (1981). Born in Miami Beach, Florida, he attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He often played sadistic military men or terrorists, and in 1975 and 1976 he had a role on the serial The Guiding Light. His later films include Dune (1984), Silver Bullet (1985), Heartbreak Ridge (1986), Licence to Kill (1989), The People Under the Stairs (1991), Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995) and My Fellow Americans (1996). He collaborated repeatedly with David Lynch, playing Stilgar in Dune, Ed Hurley on Twin Peaks, and appearing in The Straight Story (1999). McGill retired in 1999, then came back to reprise Ed Hurley in the 2017 Twin Peaks revival.
