Eric Laneuville

Eric Laneuville, born in New Orleans, is an American actor, television director and producer. He began acting in school productions, and his first screen roles included The Omega Man (1971) and the television series Room 222, where he became a semi-regular. His best known role is Luther Hawkins on St. Elsewhere, which he played from 1982 until the series ended in 1988. He also appeared in films such as Black Belt Jones (1974), A Piece of the Action (1977), Love at First Bite (1979) and A Force of One (1979). Laneuville began directing in 1984, starting with episodes of St. Elsewhere, and later directed for L.A. Law, Quantum Leap, NYPD Blue, ER, Lost and Blue Bloods. He won an Emmy in 1992 for directing the I'll Fly Away episode All God's Children. He became the first African-American director in television to work in Russia and also directed the television film America's Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story.
