Dyanne Thorne
Biography
Dyanne Thorne was an American stage and screen actress and singer known for playing the villainess Ilsa in the Ilsa films. Raised in Park Ridge, New Jersey, she studied at New York University and took acting lessons from Uta Hagen. Band singing, New York theater and comedy sketch work formed her early career, and records with Allen and Rossi, Vaughn Meader and Lohman and Barkley led to television variety appearances. Norman Chaitin's short Encounter (1965) gave her a first major film part. Her Hollywood work included an appearance on Star Trek and a villainess role in the Crown International thriller Point of Terror (1971). The Ilsa part began with Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS (1975) and continued in Ilsa, Harem Keeper of the Oil Sheiks (1976), then Ilsa, the Tigress of Siberia and the unofficial Greta, the Mad Butcher (1977), the last directed by Jess Franco. She was also known for Las Vegas stage work and died in 2020.

Thorne took acting courses with Uta Hagen after graduating from New York University, training that preceded her stage and screen career.
First role
Thorne landed her first major film role in Norman Chaitin's short Encounter, filmed in New York City in 1965. That same short gave Robert De Niro one of his early screen credits.
