Diane McBain
Biography
Diane McBain was an American actress who moved to the Los Angeles area as a child and began as an adolescent model. A Warner Bros. talent scout saw her in a high school play, and she signed a seven-year studio contract. She made her television debut in 1959 on Maverick and 77 Sunset Strip, then became known for playing an adventurous socialite on Surfside 6 from 1960 to 1962. Her early features included Ice Palace, an ingenue role in Parrish, and the title part in Claudelle Inglish. She was Elvis Presley's leading lady in Spinout (1966), and her last Warner Bros. film was A Distant Trumpet (1964). Later credits included guest roles across many television series, regional theater work, Puppet Master 5 (1994), and The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy (2000). She also wrote a screenplay titled The Spilling Moon.
