David Haskell
Biography
David Haskell was an American actor and singer who was best known for playing John the Baptist and Judas Iscariot in the musical Godspell and its 1973 film version. Born in Stockton, California, he studied at the College of Marin and Carnegie Mellon University. In 1976 he took the part of Claudio in a New York Shakespeare Festival staging of Measure for Measure at the Delacorte Theater. From 1985 to 1986 he had a recurring role on the soap Santa Barbara as Nick Hartley, the love interest of Kelly Capwell. He also made guest appearances on other television series from the 1970s through the 1990s, among them The Mary Tyler Moore Show in 1973, where he played David Russell, and Eight Is Enough in 1979, where he was Ed Gardner. On film, he appeared in K-9 (1989) as a doctor who saves Jerry Lee, the dog, near the end.
