Biography

David Bark-Jones is an English actor of stage, film and television who trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, where he studied the Stanislavski system. Born in Crosby, he made his professional stage debut in 1992 as Redpenny in The Doctor's Dilemma at the Royal Exchange in Manchester. Small repertory and television parts followed before he played Carl in Patrick Marber's Dealer's Choice at the Royal National Theatre and in the West End. He went on to appear as Lt. Denny in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, as Bulanov in Alan Ayckbourn's The Forest at the National Theatre, and as Bertie in Guy Ritchie's RocknRolla (2008). Other screen work includes Alan Bleasdale's Oliver Twist, Pillars of the Earth and Erased (2012). In 2010 he won Broadwayworld.com's Best Actor in a West End Play for The 39 Steps, and in 2013 he toured Britain with The Old Vic production of Noises Off.
