1. A change of course

   Shaw was a practicing medical doctor at King's College Hospital before he retrained in classical theater at LAMDA, turning to acting as a second career.

2. First role

   Darwin Shaw got his first professional part in Deborah Warner's Julius Caesar, staged at the Barbican Theatre, where the cast featured Ralph Fiennes, Fiona Shaw and Simon Russell Beale.

3. First role

   Shaw's first feature film role came in 2006's Casino Royale, playing Fisher, who is James Bond's first kill in the opening. The film introduced Daniel Craig as the new 007.

4. First role

   Shaw made his Royal Shakespeare Company debut in 2011 as Will Scarlet in the premiere of The Heart of Robin Hood, a production that used corde lisse aerial acrobatics.

5. Own stunts

   Darwin Shaw received the gold medal in Advanced Stage Combat, an award given to him by the British Academy of Dramatic Combat.

6. A first

   In the film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Shaw played Asoka, and a LEGO figure was made of that character.
