Biography

Dana Kimmell, an American actress and model, started out modeling as a teenager, appearing on a Teen magazine cover before signing with a modeling agency. Her professional acting debut came on Charlie's Angels (1977), and she got her break as Chris Higgins in Friday the 13th Part III (1982), Steve Miner's 3D horror movie, which opened at number one in the United States. Her final film role was Sally McQuade, the daughter of Chuck Norris's character, in the Western Lone Wolf McQuade (1983), and she also played a teenager in the slasher movie Sweet Sixteen (1983). On television her most prominent part was Dawn Marshall in the soap opera Texas, a character she first played on Another World (1980), and she made guest appearances on many series, among them Diff'rent Strokes, The Facts of Life and Hotel, plus television films such as By Dawn's Early Light (1990).

First role
Kimmell's first professional acting job came on the television series Charlie's Angels in 1977, after she obtained an agent following her high school graduation.
Big break
After appearing in Sweet Sixteen, Kimmell drew notice from a financier of Steve Miner's Friday the 13th Part III (1982). Mancuso Jr. and Miner then got in touch and asked her to star as Chris Higgins.
A change of course
In 1974, Teen magazine picked Kimmell as one of eight girls out of 20,000 to spend a week modeling in Hollywood. The magazine asked her back the following year to appear on a cover.
