About the name
While traveling as a musician, Bratton took a new name. His travels took him through Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and in Israel he appeared with his group the Young Californians at a large folk festival, playing guitar.
Beyond film
Bratton was a member of the Grass Roots, co-writing songs such as "Beatin' Round the Bush", "No Exit" and "Hot Bright Lights", and he sang lead vocals on "This Precious Time" and "Dinner for Eight".
A role that slipped away
In April 1969, Bratton grew frustrated because Dunhill refused to let the band write its own songs or play the instruments on its records. Following a disastrous Fillmore West appearance that same month, he was asked to leave.
