Crahan Denton
Biography
Crahan Denton was an American actor who worked on stage, in films, and on television. Born in Seattle, he later moved to Piedmont, California, appeared in Little Theater productions while attending the University of California, Berkeley, and trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. His Broadway credits included Key Largo, Liberty Jones, Fragile Fox, Bus Stop, Orpheus Descending, and Winesburg, Ohio, and he received an Outer Critics Circle Award for his supporting work in Bus Stop. His film work began in 1945 and continued until his death in 1966, with credits including The Great St. Louis Bank Robbery (1959), The Parent Trap (1961), Birdman of Alcatraz (1962), and Bus Riley's Back in Town. In To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) he played Walter Cunningham, a client of lawyer Atticus Finch. He also guest starred on series such as Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and Perry Mason.
