Connie Booth
Biography
Connie Booth is an American actress and writer who retired from acting. Born in Indianapolis, she worked as a Broadway understudy and later appeared in British television and films. She appeared in How to Irritate People (1968) and episodes of Monty Python's Flying Circus, then in And Now for Something Completely Different (1971) and Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), where she played a woman accused of being a witch. For Fawlty Towers, broadcast in 1975 and 1979, she was a writer and cast member, playing Polly Sherman. Her other roles include Sophie in Dickens of London (1976), Mrs. Errol in a BBC version of Little Lord Fauntleroy (1980), Miss March in The Buccaneers (1995), and the lead in The Story of Ruth (1981). She also acted in London theater, including Little Lies at Wyndham's Theatre. She left acting in 1995 and became a psychotherapist.
