Biography

Clive Wood is a British actor whose television work includes Press Gang, The Bill, and London's Burning, and who played King Henry I in The Pillars of the Earth. Born in Croydon, Surrey, he began with a starring role as Vic Brown in the 1982 ITV drama A Kind of Loving, opposite Joanne Whalley and Susan Penhaligon. He played Captain Smollett in the 1990 television film Treasure Island, having earlier appeared as Dick in a 1977 BBC version, and he acted in the film Buster (1988). His other screen credits include The Innocent (1985), Suffragette (2015), and appearances in Midsomer Murders, A Touch of Frost, and Land Girls. On stage, he took the roles of Stephano in The Tempest and Antony in Antony and Cleopatra, and he also voiced characters in the video games Sea of Thieves and Homefront: The Revolution.
