Biography
Chu Chu Malave is an American actor, writer and former professional boxer from New York City. A two-time New York Golden Gloves champion, he turned professional in 1970 and twice defeated Harold Weston before a knockout of Percy Hayles made him the fifth ranked lightweight contender; his final bout came in 1973 against Ken Buchanan. While still fighting he trained in acting at Herbert Berghoff Studios in the West Village and appeared in New York plays, and The New York Times praised his lead performance in Miguel Piñero's Short Eyes at Lincoln Center. He played Ramon Santos in the Barney Miller pilot and again in the first season, co-starred in the NBC series Chopper One, and appeared in Dog Day Afternoon and Deadly Hero. In 1979 he appeared in two films, The Main Event as a co-star and A Force of One as Rudy, and he has taken more than 20 film and television roles.

Malave trained as an actor at Herbert Berghoff Studios in the West Village while he was still fighting professionally as a boxer.
