Bill Wallace
Biography
Bill Wallace, nicknamed Superfoot, is a martial artist from Portland, Indiana who competed as a professional kickboxer and later acted in films. He took up Shorin-ryu karate in 1967 while in the U.S. Air Force, after earlier training in judo and wrestling, and earned degrees from Ball State University in 1971 and Memphis State University in 1976. Turning professional, he won 23 straight fights from 1974 to 1980 and retired unbeaten as the PKA middleweight world full-contact karate champion. His fast left leg kicks, notably a roundhouse and a hook kick, became his trademark. He appeared in A Force of One (1979) with Chuck Norris and Killpoint (1984) with Cameron Mitchell, and called early UFC tournaments, starting with the first event in 1993. He founded The Superfoot System, holds a 10th dan black belt, and was named to Black Belt magazine's Hall of Fame in 1973 and again in 1978.
