Bahni Turpin

Bahni Turpin is a stage and screen performer and an audiobook narrator from Pontiac, Michigan. She launched her acting career in 1991 with a role in Daughters of the Dust (1991), the first movie helmed by an African American woman to get a U.S. theatrical release. She later appeared on television programs including Criminal Minds and belongs to the Cornerstone Theater Company. Her narration work covers well-received titles such as The Help and The Hate U Give. Her awards include nine Audie Awards, among them the prize for audiobook of the year, given for Children of Blood and Bone, along with fourteen Earphone Awards and two Odyssey Awards. AudioFile magazine lists her as a Golden Voice Narrator, Audible chose her as its 2016 Narrator of the Year, and in 2018 Audible added her to its Narrator Hall of Fame.
