Anne Looby

Anne Looby is an Australian actress who also produces and directs for the stage, with a reputation for character roles in television serials. After graduating from NIDA in 1988, she worked across theater, television, and film. On television she played veterinarian Anna Lacey Newman on A Country Practice and later Julie Archer on All Saints. Her part in the ABC mini-series Simone de Beauvoir's Babies earned her the Australian Film Institute's award for best actress in a mini-series. On film she appeared in Daydream Believer (1992), WillFull (2001), and Disgrace (2008), acting opposite John Malkovich in the last. In 2007 she played Joanna in Company, and her appearance in Arcadia won her the Sydney Critic Award. She produced Breast Wishes between 2006 and 2011, directed touring Hi-5 productions and Shakespeare school productions, and has taught acting for camera and introductory Shakespeare through NIDA and Theatre Nepean UWS.
