Alan Tam

Alan Tam is a Hong Kong singer and actor who started in the entertainment industry with the band Wynners before launching a solo singing career and moving into acting. In the early 1980s he received Best Male Actor prizes on two occasions, although he became more widely recognized as one of the greats of Cantonese pop. He dominated that music scene in the early and middle years of the decade, and his songs regularly earned Top Ten Songs of the Year honors while he was named Most Popular Male Singer many times. Among his most famous songs were Autumn Love, Friend, Illusion Images and Love's Origins, along with the pop and disco classic Love Trap. In 1988 he controversially chose to turn down every singing and acting award from then on, yet he continued to sing and act.
