Plot summary
Mui Lam Tin is a former professional wrestler turned robber, vicious but principled, and he has a major heist planned. Two dispirited middle-aged best friends get caught up in it: a taxi driver who can barely make ends meet while his wife is about to give birth, and a nursing home owner in debt because he is too generous. Both men are pulled into the robbery against their will, and the stolen cash goes missing. Ginger is a policewoman near retirement who wants one major case closed before she leaves the force, and the young officer Fisher works it with her.

- Aaron Kwok devised his character's bucktoothed look himself after reading the script and spotting its black comedy, and also wore a cauliflower ear built with special effects because the robber is a former professional wrestler.
- David Chiang, who appears in the film with his real-life son John Chiang Jr., said he had no clue that his half-brother Derek Yee was producing Rob N Roll before his son was cast.
- Maggie Cheung Ho-yee, who plays the veteran policewoman Ginger, said Rob N Roll was the first time she fires a gun on screen.
