Plot summary

At first glance the Ristuccia family looks close-knit, but each of them keeps something back. Carlo, the head of the household, works in an insurance company while wanting to become a writer. His wife Giulia teaches school and gave up acting to raise the family. Their son Paolo cannot assert himself with the girls he likes, and their daughter Valentina, not yet eighteen, is set on becoming a television showgirl. When Carlo meets Alessia, an old love, at a class reunion, the two begin an affair. Meanwhile Giulia auditions for a stage production and tries to hold the marriage together.
