Plot summary
Recently divorced, a mother and her two teenage children are adjusting to a new life in Aspen Ridge, an isolated suburban community. Mysterious red letters arrive for the three of them, each instructing its recipient to kill the person named before that person kills them. The whole neighborhood receives letters of its own, one resident named in each. Paranoia and chaos follow as the family tries to deal rationally with a situation that has no rational answer.
