Plot summary

Indigenous imagery is all over Western pop culture, and the documentary asks why so much of it is borrowed without being fully understood. A Cree narrator wants to know why the world is drawn to the stereotypical picture of Native people, and why Native cultures have been romanticized, revered and taken up by outsiders for so long. He puts the question to a fashion writer, a fashion law scholar, designers and artists, an Indigenous studies scholar, an elder and former chief, a descendent of a shaman, and an ultramarathoner who is also a school principal. The influence on Western culture and identity is buried deep in history, and many Indigenous people do not know about it.
