Plot summary

Born in Georgia in 1930, Ray Charles was among the first to blend gospel, rhythm and blues and jazz into a new kind of pop, and his voice was instantly recognizable. At the Montreux Jazz Festival in July 1997 he fronts his orchestra, with Al Jackson on saxophone, and the singers The Raelettes. The program draws on his well-known material, among it "I Don't Know," "Georgia on My Mind," "Mississippi Mud," "Busted," "You Made Me Love You," "Angelina," "Song for You," "Do It to Me Slow," "Shadows of My Mind" and "I Can't Stop Loving You," a UK number one.
