Plot summary
Martin Raikes works in the compliance department of a New York bank. The bank sends him to Monaco to look into unusual deposits that come from an offshore bank and into the accounts of a film production, and he plans to fly on to London afterward to visit his daughter. Lela Forin, the production's chief financial officer, meets him and introduces him to Jake Mellows, the faded action star the film is built around. Something about the production strikes Martin as wrong, and his questions about its finances draw the attention of the people who put their money into the film.
